There is a direct connection between low EQ and susceptibility to radicalisation. The PreventiMI project aims to equip young migrants with the necessary skills to identify risk factors, manage crises and intervene in emotionally ‘difficult’ situations.
At the same time, the project also equips youth workers with the essential knowledge, skills and responsibility to address the various challenges faced by young migrants. This is where emotional intelligence and its vital role in building emotional resilience is of particular importance, empowering youth workers to actively prevent radicalisation of this vulnerable demographic.
Youth workers will explore the fundamental components of Emotional Intelligence:
- Self-awareness
- Self-regulation
- Social awareness
- Relationship managemen
The aim is to recall the crucial link between mental stability, emotional well-being and the prevention of radicalisation, by implementing specific strategies for mental health in the context of youth migration.
